What is Direct Primary Care?

Direct Primary Care is a model of healthcare that focuses on the physician-patient relationship without the limitations of insurance or the lack of personalization of a larger practice or limited visit times. It is a concierge-style medicine that does not bill insurance or have hidden fees. For a low, monthly membership fee there are no surprise bills or unexpected costs. Members have easy, direct and quality access to their pediatrician whenever they need it.

What does membership cover?
  1. Well Visits and Checkups

  2. Unlimited sick visits (acute and chronic care)

  3. Access to your Pediatrician via text/email/cell

  4. Remote visits/virtual care

  5. House calls as appropriate

  6. Routine vaccinations

  7. School/camp/sports physical forms

  8. Developmental and behavioral screenings

  9. Counseling and guidance (nutrition, development, sleep, behavior, parenting, and more)

  10. Evaluation and medical management (when necessary) of chronic pediatric conditions
such as eczema, asthma, ADHD, depression, and anxiety

  11. Communication and coordinated care with specialists

Can I afford this level of care?

The membership model is actually more affordable for most families!

There is a one-time $100 family enrollment fee. After that, the monthly fee is based on your child's age. There are no hidden fees and most all health care needs will be covered with this.

In a traditional practice, a visit for a simple rash can cost more than $150 out of pocket depending on deductibles and insurance plans. Follow-up visits for an upper-respiratory infection with ear infection can easily reach more than $300. All of these are included.

We also are able to do a lot through texting and a quick call, saving families from taking time off of work and long wait times in the doctor’s office.

Do I still need health insurance?

We recommend all patients have health insurance to provide coverage for catastrophic events, hospitalization and other expensive unexpected health needs.

Based on everything that is covered, many patients are able to change their insurance policy and save money.

Do you offer prenatal visits for expecting families?

Absolutely! We meet each prospective family before they join to make sure it is a perfect fit. Contact us to set-up a meet and greet.

How do you handle vaccines?

Just like normal! We follow the vaccination schedule approved by the AAP and CDC. For families who are unsure or hesitant about vaccines, we take the time to explain the benefits, answer questions, and help you feel comfortable with the care and safety of your child. For families who wish to split or space vaccines, we are able to have return home visits for an additional charge.

Do you have weekend and after school slots?

Absolutely! We know many families can't take time off work and school for routine care, so we offer flexibility to our families. We also know that children do not become ill between 8am-5pm M-F.

Is it easy to schedule appointments?

Absolutely! The benefit of direct access and communication as well as a small number of patients in the practice, is we can work to schedule appointments quickly and conveniently.

What if my kid gets sick while on vacation or out of town?

Call or text us, just like usual—another benefit of being a member! Once we determine the best course of care, we can call in a prescription, help locate the nearest care center or discuss your child’s medical history with a local provider, if necessary.

How do you keep kids out of urgent care and ER visits?

Patients tell us they visit urgent care when they don't have access to their pediatrician, so we do our best to break down those barriers. We are available through text and email, which has saved many visits—we can often diagnose or provide peace of mind with a simple photo or video.

You can schedule a visit and message when you need it. You do not need to wait by the phone for the office to be open or wait on hold to try and get the last appointment. We can often accommodate same-day or next-day visits, and you won't have to wait forever in the lobby either. This is all because of our membership model and small patient panel.
